About Me
I grew up in Northern Virginia and have lived in West Lafayette, Indiana and Woodbury, Connecticut before moving to Greenville in 2001. My wife Susan is a nurse, and we have four children: Sarah (attending Greenville Tech Charter High School), Catherine (an 8th grader at Langston), Emily (a 6th grader at Langston, and Matthew (attending Oakview Elementary). We have been very pleased with the quality of education our daughters have received at Langston, and strongly support its focus on leadership and community service.
Professional
I am currently the Engineering Learning Leader for GE Energy, and my team manages the Edison Engineering Development Program, the Advanced Courses in Engineering (ACE) Program, the Energy Engineering Fundamentals curricula, and other technical development programs for GE Energy engineers worldwide. We partner with universities for recruiting, curriculum development and continuing education. I have had roles in the Reliability Engineering, Six Sigma Quality, and gas turbine design since coming to GE in 2001. Prior to GE I served customers in the aerospace, automotive, energy, and consumer products industries with training, consulting, and technical support related to mechanical simulation. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in Materials Science from the University of Virginia, and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
