Leadership Director
The Leadership Director will abide by the adopted school mission, vision and core values as a member of the Board and will participate in the annual new student Family Intake Conferences. The Leadership Director shall be responsible for defining and implementing the Leadership Development Strategy for the school to enable students to gain understanding of a variety of leadership roles and the personal characteristics that effective, ethical leaders exhibit. The Leadership Director will enlist speakers on at least a quarterly basis to address the student body on topics in accord with the Leadership Development Strategy. The Leadership Director is encouraged to develop other avenues for students to interact with leaders, learn about leadership styles and roles, and develop their own leadership skills.Duties:
- Work with the Principal and Leadership teaching staff to define a Leadership Development Strategy that includes, at a minimum, classroom instruction, a complementary quarterly leadership speaker's series, and opportunities for students to develop leadership skills. Present strategy for board approval in the spring before end of school year.
- Work with the Campus Involvement Director to promote leadership activities within the Langston community and identify volunteers to support leadership events if needed.
- Reward and recognize those who contribute substantially to leadership activities at LCMS.
- Work with the board as needed to identify opportunities for students to develop their leadership and organizational skills via external and internal service projects.
- Communicate leadership activities to the Public Relations Chair to insure that they have visibility outside the Langston community.
Required qualifications:
- Ability to strategize effectively and gain consensus for ideas
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities.
Desired qualifications:
- Current or former holder of a leadership role with substantial record of achievement.
- Influential connections with business, academic, governmental and/or service organizations
