Academic Affairs Coordinator

The Academic Affairs Director will abide by the adopted school mission, vision and core values as a member of the Board and will participate in the annual new student Family Intake Conferences. The Academic Affairs Director shall work with the principal and be responsible for assisting the principal in the leadership, management, and administration of the academic program in accordance with the South Carolina Standards and Curriculum requirements.

Duties:

1. Provides leadership in planning and coordinating school programs which include evaluation, development and revision of curriculum guides, courses and curricula, and implementation of mid-term and final exams.

2. Assist the faculty and staff in identifying ways to provide innovative instructional strategies to enhance the single gender classroom.

3. Work with faculty and staff in implementation of curriculum.

4. Participates in the recruitment and the interview process for new faculty members.

5. Maintain frequent and open communication with faculty and staff.

6. Assists teachers in obtaining equipment and supplies.

7. Assist with the annual evaluation of faculty in order to improve faculty performance.

8. Document the amount and type of professional development completed by faculty.

9. Facilitate a working relationship between LCMS and local colleges and universities.

Required Qualifications:

  • A professional background in education, curriculum development and evaluation, and teacher education
  • Demonstrated understanding of single gender instructional strategies


Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in the education field
