About Me

I'd like to welcome you to my website and tell you a little about myself. My husband's name is Tom and I have a 10 year old daughter named Autumn. She attends Brushy Creek Elementary school and I plan for her to attend Langston next year. As a family we enjoy hiking, roller skating, and riding bikes. I also love to garden and grow plants and flowers.

Even though this is my 1st year teaching at Langston (08-09), I am no rookie to the job. This is my 21st year teaching and I have to say I really enjoy working here. The students are so friendly and eager to learn. I'm also amazed at the parent participation and how well the teachers at Langston work together to meet the needs of the students. In all the years that I have taught, I can honestly say that Langston has the most positive teaching environment I've ever experienced.

Conferences Attended

In June 2008, I attended a conference on Single Gender teaching and discovered what I have always suspected to be true; boy and girls learn differently. This only reinforces why I teach to the individual, not just the whole class. It is also one of the reasons I am so excited about teaching at Langston this year. I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to work at Langston and finally fulfill my desire to work with middle schoolers.
