About Me

My husband, Jody, and I have two children, Andrew, 21, and Morgan, 17. In my free time I love to be with my family, cook, and read books.

I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and attended Columbia College (an all girls' college) where I received a BA degree in Accounting. I moved to Greenville in 1986. After having children, I worked at Southside Christian School where I was employed for ten years. I graduated from Clemson University in August 2006 with a Master's Degree in Middle School Mathematics. I love teaching middle school math and I love the students. It is a joy to watch the students as they grow and blossom into young adults. I am thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of their lives.

I can't imagine teaching anywhere other than Langston. Having taught both traditional classes and single-gender classes, I clearly see the benefits of single-gender classes in the middle school. Our studies show that single-gender classes benefit both boys and girls. I only wish more students had the opportunity to attend a single-gender school.
