ENROLLMENT PROCESS AT LANGSTON:
Historically, Langston has always received more applications than there are available openings for the coming year, and as a result, in accordance with South Carolina Charter School law, Langston admits all students through a lottery process.
NOTE: The Lottery/Enrollment Process has been changed to adapt to the COVID-19 health and safety concerns. The steps relevant to this year's lottery (for 2021-2022 enrollment) are listed on the previous Enrollment page.
For those who miss participating in the enrollment lottery, a Wait List application may be submitted. Wait List applications are time and date stamped and placed in order of receipt below the names drawn in the lottery. Wait List applications for the current school year may be obtained through the Registrar, and Wait List applications for the next school year will be available on the school website after the enrollment lottery is completed.
SIBLING ENROLLMENT PROCESS AT LANGSTON:
In order to be considered a “sibling applicant” and bypass the enrollment lottery, an applicant must meet all of the following requirements:
Share at least one common parent, either by birth or legal adoption with a sibling either currently enrolled or who has completed at least one year at Langston within the last six years;
Attend one of three Application Orientation Meetings during the year of application;
Parents of CURRENTLY ENROLLED Langston students are not required to attend a meeting in order to make an application for a younger sibling;
Complete and submit a lottery application by the required due date.
If these requirements are met, then the sibling applicant may bypass the enrollment lottery. As with all other applicants, all sibling applicants are additionally required to complete any additional steps in the enrollment process, such as Enrollment paperwork and participation in a Family Intake Conference, in order to receive an official offer of acceptance.
