ENROLLMENT INFO

ENROLLMENT PROCESS AT LANGSTON:

Historically, Langston has always received more applications than there are available openings for the coming year, and as a result, in accordance with South Carolina Charter School law, Langston admits all students through a lottery process.

To be included in the enrollment lottery, all applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Attend one of three Application Orientation Meetings held prior to the lottery;

  • Complete and submit a lottery application by the required due date.

  • EXCEPTION: Parents of CURRENTLY ENROLLED Langston students are not required to attend a meeting in order to make an application for a younger sibling.

These requirements are mandatory each year for all applicants.  All applicants meeting the above two requirements will be entered in the enrollment lottery, with results posted immediately following the lottery on the front doors of the school.

Those applicants selected through the lottery are additionally required to complete Enrollment paperwork and participate in a Family Intake Conference with representatives of the school before official offers are extended.  The remaining names on the lottery list become the official wait list for the coming year, and any openings which occur during the coming year are offered to applicants on the lottery list in order of names drawn.

For those who miss participating in the enrollment lottery, a Wait List application may be submitted.  Wait List applications are time and date stamped and placed in order of receipt below the names drawn in the lottery.  Wait List applications for the current school year may be obtained through the Registrar, and Wait List applications for the next school year will be available on the school website after the enrollment lottery is completed.
