THE PURPOSE OF LANGSTON'S UNIFORM DRESS CODE
The Purpose of Langston's Uniform Dress Code
Students at Langston are expected to arrive at school each day prepared to focus on their education. Accordingly, our students will wear uniforms at school and at designated school-sponsored events. All students who attend Langston agree to abide by the designated school uniform dress code.
The uniform is a distinct indication of a student's connection to Langston Charter Middle School, therefore proper wearing of the uniform and adherence to the school dress code are vital. The uniform and dress code are designed to present a neat and conservative appearance.
Uniforms for boys and girls must be purchased at one of our approved vendors in order to be in compliance with the Langston Dress Code. A complete list of uniform items is available through our vendors.

Visible adjustments or "look-alike" uniforms are not allowed. If garments are altered and do not reflect the values of Langston, the clothing will not be in compliance under the dress code and will not be permitted.
The purpose of the dress code is to encourage students to focus on the learning process without the distractions of unsuitable dress and grooming.
Hair
Hair must be natural in color, including highlights. No distracting hair styles or permanent embellishments such as hair wraps or "feather locks."

As stated in the United States Flag Code - "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery." As such, masks should not be composed of, or decorated with, any flag design (American or otherwise).
